SP and OP sisters support call for sensible gun violence prevention legislation
Adults nationwide have wrung our hands, mourned and offered prayers and condolences as community after community has been stunned by gun violence on our streets, in public gathering places and even in our schools. Now, in the wake of the February 14 shooting deaths of 14 students and three staff members at Marjory Stoneman High School in Parkland, Florida, the children are demanding that we do more to keep them safe.
Providence Sister Rosa Sen Nguyen professes perpetual vows
Sister Rosa Sen Nguyen made profession of perpetual vows of poverty, chastity and obedience as a Sister of Providence in a bilingual liturgy at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 10, at St. Finbar Church in Burbank, California.
A reception followed at Providence High School, where Sister Rosa serves in full-time ministry in the Finance Department and supports the school’s campus ministry office.
