UGF celebrates 75th anniversary

This year, 2007, marks the 75th anniversary of the University of Great Falls. The dedication and sacrifice of the Sisters of Providence contributed to its rich legacy, its current promise and its bright future.

A gala celebration in the Great Falls Civic Center in December was a walk down memory lane for University of Great Falls students, alumni, current and former faculty, staff and administrators, and community supporters.? The evening was highlighted by displays of historical photos, testimonials from graduates, and ?An Invitation To Serve,? a video reflecting the university?s past, present and future.? Some of the pictures from the event are here along with a timeline of the university?s history.? Look for more in the spring issue of Caritas.

Displays of historical photos delighted the attendees.

UGF President Eugene J. McAllister shared some exciting things on the university's horizon. Dr. Ken Kapstafer, a UGF alumnus and a former recipient of the Mother Joseph Award, gives a testimonial to the university's role in his life.
The invocation was given by Sr. Mary Kaye Nealen, UGF professor and a former provost and vice president of academic affairs. (From left) Srs. Elizabeth Gress, Dorothy Byrne and Inez Arkell enjoyed the festivities.
