LCWR offers Avanti!, a daily reflection book

Members of the 15 communities of women religious in the Northwest that form Region 15 of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) recommend the organization’s new book, Avanti!, a reflective resource for a spiritual journey.

The book is a collection of personal reflections written by 30 LCWR members about responding to God, who comes to us from the future and invites us to come forward. The reflections are accompanied by artwork by Catholic sisters, as well as questions and suggestions for deepening the reader’s own prayer.

Avanti, the Italian word for forward, was a central focus of LCWR President Sharon Holland, IHM, at the 2015 LCWR assembly. She spoke about the attitudes of heart and mind that are needed to proceed forward even when what is ahead is dark and unknown.

Cost of the book is $6.00 plus shipping and handling, with discounts available for orders larger than 10 copies. Orders may be placed online through the LCWR home page at www.lcwr.org.

A limited number of books will be printed, so orders must be received with payment by March 11. Questions about orders may be directed to:

Note: Two sisters from LCWR Region 15 are writers featured in the book Avanti!. They are Sister Sharon Casey, OP-T, prioress/president of the Tacoma Dominicans, and Sister Susan Francois, CSJP, who is a member of that religious community’s congregational leadership.
