The Year of Consecrated Life
“Wake up the world!”
“Be witnesses of a different way of doing things, of acting, of living!” – Pope Francis
2015 is the Year of Consecrated Life
It began the first Sunday of Advent, November 29, 2014,and ends February 2, 2016, the World Day of Consecrated Life.
The focus of the Year of Consecrated Life is to foster a culture of vocations and to extend an invitation for renewal to those women and men throughout the world who have accepted the call to live a consecrated life to serve Christ and the Church.
It is a time for sharing experiences of prayer, service and community life with families and particularly with young adults. It is a time to remember and honor the past and to embrace the future with hope
In this Year of Consecrated Life we invite you to witness the ways in which Sisters of Providence have been waking up the world since the religious community’s founding in 1843 in Montreal, Quebec.
Today, the community of Sisters of Providence serves throughout the world: in the United States, Canada, Chile, Egypt, El Salvador, Cameroon, Argentina, Haiti and the Philippines.
We are proud to follow the example of our foundress Blessed Emilie Gamelin as we reach out to the poor and vulnerable in what Pope Francis describes as “a culture of encounter”.
We invite you to learn more in a special video. Providence of God, we thank You for all!
