Two sisters travel to El Paso, Texas, to assist immigrants at the border

Two sisters from Mother Joseph Province will leave Seattle on October 6 to travel to El Paso, Texas, to volunteer at Annunciation House. Sister Charlene Hudon will stay for two weeks and Sister Marisol Avìla will stay for two months or longer, depending on the needs. At the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) annual assembly in Nashville, Tenn., in August, about 300 interested sisters gathered to discuss concerns about the situation at the southern border of the United States. They shared information about what is happening, what the needs are, and who has resources, human or financial, to fill those needs. Networking and connections furthered the discussion.

Please keep our sisters in prayer as they respond, in our name and in the spirit of our foundress Blessed Emilie Gamelin, to the unmet needs of the poorest of the poor.
