Two sister centenarians in 2020

The Sisters of Providence celebrated two 100th birthdays this year: Sister Cecilia Paganessi on July 9 and Sister Irene Charron on October 4. The centenarians enjoyed cake and gifts from their communities and the Provincial Council of Mother Joseph Province who paid a visit to each in their retirement homes. Sister Karin Dufault, congregational leader from Montreal, was even in town for Sister Irene’s special day!

Sister Cecilia’s ministries included teacher, provincial treasurer and community service. She resides at Emilie Court in Spokane, Wash.

Sister Irene’s ministries included teacher, librarian and sister-visitor to patients at convalescent centers. She lives at St. Joseph Residence in West Seattle.
