Sr. Hong Na Nguyen professes final vows
On July 16, Sister Hong Nga Nguyen made her final vows in a bilingual ceremony at the Vietnamese Martyrs Church in Tukwila, Wash., the parish where she goes every Sunday and sings in the choir. The theme for the Eucharistic celebration was: The love of Christ impels us. Go and bear fruit that lasts. “I want more Vietnamese to know who we are,” she said. “This is a special occasion, yes, but we are here for you.”

Maureen Morris named co-recipient of 2016 Mother Joseph Award
For 20 years, Maureen Morris has been “The Face of Providence” for every person who comes in the door at St. Joseph Residence, the home of retired and infirm Sisters of Providence in West Seattle. Maureen was no stranger to the sisters when she took the job, having already served a few years at the front desk of the adjacent Mount St. Vincent.
Rebecca Hawkins, co-recipient of 2016 Mother Joseph Award
Rebecca Hawkins, MSN, ANP, ACHPN, has been an oncology and palliative care nurse practitioner for more than 30 years and is a nationally recognized educator, speaker and writer in her field. In addition to her role as director of Compassionate Care across Providence, she is a palliative care nurse practitioner for St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla, Wash.
