Truly the Work of Mother Gamelin

While in Vietnam to care for her ill parents, Sr. Rosa Nguyen, SP, received an invitation to go to Hue, Vietnam, to visit Arpan Global Charities (AGC).

“It was overwhelming to see the many needs that are met by the Sisters.,” said Sr. Rosa.  “I am grateful for this powerful experience which strengthened my own call to service. The Sisters are really the daughters of Mother Emilie Gamelin among the people in Hue.”

Sr. Rosa visited the Daughters of Immaculate Mary Clinic, the Health Department at Hue University and sites caring for blind and handicapped children and elderly in different villages.  She worked with Sr. Mong Thu, a Daughter of Immaculate Mary in Hue, Sr. Thuy Tran, a  Sister of St. Joseph of Orange from California and Dr. Amy Szyszko, Chief Physician and Mission Integration Officer of the Providence Clinical Network.

Arpan Global Charities is a medical volunteer organization that was founded in 2005 by Dr. Sudeep Kukreja, a Neonatologist at Children’s Hospital of Orange County in Orange, California. The word “Arpan” is a Hindi word, meaning “dedication” or “to give.”

In 2019, many physicians and staff from St. Joseph Hospital in Orange County, participated in a medical mission to Hue organized by AGC.
